I began taking oil painting classes at the 92nd Street Y in 2016 to supplement my writing on art. I discovered that I enjoyed painting for its own sake. For several years, I have been a student of Chris Wright, a painting instructor at Pratt Institute who also teaches at the Y. My aim is to create close observations of my subjects, recording their subtleties and capturing their essence.
